FAST... AND PRAYERS... TAKE TWO!!!

This is Heidi... Wanted to write and give you all a update! my dad had a job interview again with IHC on or around the 4th of December and he should know something this week- i think it's this week. Anyhow!! i wanted to write and ask that everyone- all of our friends and family keep him and our whole family in their thoughts and prayers and if they would be willing to- to participate in a FAST!! in his behalf and our behalf as a family. You can start it tonight or do it anytime this week. For the purpose of and in hopes of him maybe getting this job or a Job that is well suited for him and our family and he and all of us as a family can "EXIT AND LEAVE THE UNEMPLOYMENT STATE!" and that hopefully we do not get another rejection call, letter or rejection by silence. And of course i will keep you all informed.

Thanks,
Heidi and The Richhart Family!

The above message was written on or around December 15th, 2009! but, will and still applies to the message i am about to write. I do apologize if there is any repetitive writting/and information at all.

This is now December 19th, 2009 and here we go!!!

This is Heidi again anyhow Dad (Eric- yes my dad) Just informed us this morning that He has a interview yet again- Yes, you read right i said "AGAIN!" with IHC!! however as i write this message i got the other night some insight on how these "BIG!" companies such as IHC actually picks how they choose who (which applicant) get's the job after the whole inteviewing process is completed. Which is a process i personally thinks needs to be changed.
Anyhow say there is a company who has jobs they need to fill and they post the job listing and let's say there are about 1,000 applicants who they recieve applications and resumes from. They go through all the resumes and apps. And they narrow the applicants down to let's say 300! and then they start interviewing and then for whatever reason narrow it down to 25 and there is 10 positions. and out of that 25 15 or 20 of the applicants "are great!" well they need to make a decision right? so then what they do is all the interviewers put let's say 1 or 2 names of the people they interviewed and liked - all the names go into a "HAT!" and THE NAME(S) GET PULLED OUT OF A HAT! and the person whose name get's pulled out of the hat get's the job! I personally think the process of the person who get's there name drawn out of the hat - get's the job! i think that process needs to stop and the person who get's the job should be the person with the best experience and qualifications. They should get the job on there own merits and not because they got lucky and had there name drawn out of a hat! the whole prescreening process is fine.
but, the other part! not so much.

His interview is... actually i will post that info when i get it!! in any case if you all as our friends and family could keep us in your prayers and thoughts and maybe participate in a fast or fast in our behalf Starting today and any day this week- whenever is convient for you and or your family that would be great! sorry i feel weird for asking. Updates to come soon!

REJECTED... AGAIN...

Heidi- here i am signed in so i thought i would update the blog. You may remember last night when i wrote the post about a FAST and PRAYERS!! due to my dad still not having heard from the job at IHC that he interviewed for about a week in a half ago! Well i think i spoke to soon. This afternoon while checking his email. He finds a message from the Human Resources Department of IHC!

And the bottom line was and is... "They appreciate his interest and the opportunity they had to sit down with him and discuss his experience- BLAH BLAH BLAH - unfortunately his skill set and experience does not meet there needs and they are going with candidates who more closely meet what they need." And well you know the rest

"Well keep your application on file and if anything comes up we will call you! or whatever they say!"

Yeah right! He don't have enough experience try 30+ years!! what more do they want?

Eric- Interview today

Today Eric interviewed today for another position in Security with -- You guessed it. IHC!! - however this time he was given a job description paper and he brought it home. He said to me that he thinks and feels that maybe things gone somewhat better rather than what they have in the past. I do not know what to make of that or think of that. He should know something in a week or within a week. I an just really hoping as i know he is - that he get's this job or a job soon! i really hate the uncertainty and helplessness and feelings of hopelessness we have been experiencing and experience everytime he for one reason or another get's rejected in the end for these jobs. I hate seeing the disappointment and depression. I do not like feeling the worry of "what's going to happen to us ? (as a family) and the lack of income.

We are asking for continued prayers and now the prayers that he will be selected and get this job or a JOB SOON!!

Depressed???

I think my husband would not be happy if he saw that i wrote this on the blog. Anyhow I have been watching him these last days especially today. He went for a interview with Shriner's Hospital last Friday November 20, 2009. And to no surprise!!! he did not get the job and i think after all this rejection and difficulty he is experiencing and all of us as a Family are experiencing with him not being able to and not getting any of the jobs he apply's for I can see that he is and feels at times depressed. I think he is experiencing these feelings because he can't take care of and provide for his family and because the holiday's are upon us.

That being said... I know he would really appreciate and all of us as well would really appreciate extra extra prayers, thoughts and love and support! as we know we have been recieving your prayers, love and support and friendship and love- I think and would like to ask for the extra prayers etc. at this time!!

We love you all!

IHC

Dad had his interview with IHC today! here is the low down! The group interview was first. There were 6 applicants in his group that interviewed. All of them were younger than him- in there late 20's to mid 30's. And the interviewer was young to.

None of them had previous Security experience - Dad was and is the only one with Experience. So you would think that would give him an advantage over the other applicant's. But, not necessarily! you can never count on anything these days.
Then after the group interviews each applicant had a individual- one on one interview. So we should know something by the end of the week! hopefully it's good news and not a rejection!

If you all could continue to keep Dad and all of us in the family in your thoughts and prayers this whole week- and pray we don't get a rejection! and pray we get this job (i mean- that Dad get's this job!) and the answer we are seeking will be YES!

We would really appreciate it! we need all the prayers and as many people as possible "pulling for us!" and all the "HELP!" we need.

Interview with WinCo foods...- for Eric...(DAD)

We didn't get a chance to blog about this last night but, Dad got invited to a interview today with WinCo foods today for a LOSS PREVENTION job. He interviewed with the individual who is in charge of Loss Prevention for all the stores.

However the person who makes the decision for that department i guess was not there today so we should have a answer within a week.

So we are still hoping and praying for Dad to get this job and hoping we don't actually get another rejection letter or rejection. We are hoping that he actually get's the job but, at the same time we hope the job that is for him and all of us as a family if it's not this one. Comes along real soon! we are asking all our friends and family to keep him and all of us as a family in there thoughts and prayers for the next week. That things will turn out for the best and that the answer we are hoping for as far as this job will be YES! and we will get the job.

A Little Update...

Heidi-- Here... Just wanted to update everyone on everything! The three of us--
Mom, Dad, and I applied for a position with the New WinCo foods they are building 2 stores here in Utah one in West Valley City and one in Midvale, Utah- there was WinCon representitives headquartered at the E-center in West Valley City this last monday till yesterday (SEPTEMBER 14TH to 18TH) We got our applications Thursday! i know kind of late. It's been a real busy week! We picked up applications Thursday and they said on Thursday that all applications had to be turned in by 5 PM yesterday! so we are thinking "No Problem!" We go yesterday about 11 AM and when we get to the E-Center and are walking up to the door we see signs on the door that says "WinCo foods is no longer taking applications!" we get a little upset and freaked out for a few minutes - as we are walking into the E-Center me (Heidi) really irritated that they said one thing and did another and are walking to the area where they were based at. The door was closed up but there was a WinCo representitive and one of the E-Center security guards standing there and we were asking along with other applicants "What was going on?" well they had stopped taking and giving out new applications at 10:30 AM - but informed everyone that those who had completed applications those applications would still be reviewed and considered but, no more would be handed out. So alot of people turned away.

As it turns out they had between the 3 new stores (the 2 Utah ones and one in California) they had over 10,000 applicants - a HUGE RESPONSE! i guess bigger than they thought and anticipated.

Hopefully we will get at least called in for a interview. And maybe one of us maybe will get hired. Keep your fingers crossed and the 3 of us in your prayers! that we can find employment and SOON!!

END OF SUMMER 2009... POST!!!

Well today is Labor Day (September 7th, 2009). And after Labor Day- that usually means that it is the end of summer. So how appropriate it is at this present time than to do a "END OF SUMMER!" Post!!!

We have had a busy summer and it seems like every weekend we have been gone doing something. In any case this summer has been real fun and eventful.

Where do i start ???

June 14th, 2009- Eric, myself and Heidi took a day trip to Grand Junction, Colorado (And may i add that Grand Junction has alot to offer and a real fun place- it has many many stores, food establishments and businesses. So it is really hard to get bored in Grand Junction!!!) We went there for a Annual Encampment for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (Which is a lineage organization of individuals who have ancestors who fought in the civil war).
Eric of course is a member and officer in the organization. What a fun time.

Next Stop...

June 26, 2009 (Heidi's Birthday)!! Heidi turned 28 this year - and we had a ward get together that night and then celebrated with the family (Jared and Lindsay and Ashlee and Kayla the next night (we missed having dakota there as he was at his mom's that weekend).

July 19th, 2009 - Was Eric's birthday which was celebrated with Family!

July 20th, 2009- A sad day in the family (The Richhart Family) Eric's first cousin who lived in Mt. Pleasant, Utah (he was more like a brother rather a first cousin) passed away suddenly of a heart attack in his home. His wife passed away about 18 months before (February 14, 2008) we take comfort in knowing he was prepared to reunite with his eternal sweetheart and other family members who went before.

Also on this Day marks the anniversary (3 years) of our son Jared and his wife lindsay - so the 20th was a day of happiness and sadness.

July 25th, 2009- was the day of our cousin Richard LeRoy Richhart's funeral. We were glad we were able to see so many family members (but wish it had been under happier circumstances) Eric was really honored to be able to be a pallabearer and give this one last service and honor to his cousin and his family.

Kayla our granddaughter (our oldest granddaughter) turned 2! on July 27th- we were able to celebrate with her that day.

Eric and I took a 2nd honeymoon and trip to Northern and Southern California for Eric's High School class reunion - 40 Years! we also were able to visit the graves of his parents and grandparents and other family members. We were excited to be able to see and go out to dinner with a cousin who lives in Altadena, CA which is near Pasadena.

After arriving home from our "2nd honeymoon!" 5 days later we were packing up again to go down to Springville, Utah for my (Marilyn's) Family reunion - we camped for 3 Days 2 nights in Hobble Creek Canyon. Such fun times to be with family.

Are we done yet???

The very next weekend - August 15th, 2009 - Was the evening of Mine (Marilyn's) High School reunion - again 40 years! (I just aged myself) the wonderful reunion was held at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah

August 29th, 2009 - there was another family reunion - in Lake Shore Utah (Near Springville and Spanish Fork, Utah (this is my grandmother's siblings and there family)!!! that same night we were able to attend a wedding reception in Sandy, Utah (On Eric's side of the family) where we again were able to see cousins we hadn't seen for a long time.

Eric has been really busy assisting, completing and processing applications for members (prospective) of the Son's of American revolution and Looking for work! so if anyone hears of anything please let us know.

WHAT A CUTE BABY!!!!

SERVICE AT THE OQUIRRH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE

Yesterday- Monday August 24th, 2009. I, Marilyn had the wonderful opportunity of going and serving at The newly dedicated Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple- I had the opportunity of cleaning and helping it be ready to open today. What a wonderful experience.

It was a very humbling experience and opportunity to be able to be in the house of the lord- our heavenly father's house. And to prepare his house for the temple patrons.

I am so glad and blessed to have had this opportunity.

Public

Just made our blog public... So we will see how it goes!!!!

TEMPLE DEDICATION- AUGUST 23, 2009 - OQUIRRH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE...

This is Heidi writing today! We are writting about the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication.

Mom, Dad and i went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication Sunday August 23, 2009
we went to the 9 AM session- We were fortunate and blessed to get tickets and to be able to go to the dedication in the Temple. Our seats were in one of the instruction rooms upstairs right almost next to the Celestial room. We got there at about 8 AM or just before then. And the room was already half full! They had the TV monitors on showing the rooms inside the temple, the grounds etc. With music playing in the background of course.
Then 9 AM came along and then the screen switched over to showing the Celestial room (LIVE!!!) -- and then you could see President Monsen, President Uchtdorf and the temple presidency and one of the other apostles (in our session- it was David Bednar.)
But, before they entered the celestial room- we all rose because it was getting time for them to arrive and things to start. And President Monsen walked by with the Temple President next to him (i believe) and then comes President Uchtdorf and he looked in our room and Had a big smile on his face and waved and we all waved back.

Then the dedication session started!! it was a real wonderful and beautiful service. We all did the Hossanna Shout after the dedicatory prayer - which was also a wonderful prayer. The Dedication lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes- after the Dedication session President Uchtdorf, President Monsen, and David Bednar all came back- of course the order was President Monsen, President Uchtdorf and Davis bednar. President Monsen see's us all so quiet and standing and stops and looks in our room and says "Are we all okay in here?" we had a laugh and he waved and we waved back. What a wonderful and beautiful day for a dedication. We come out to find that it had rained some during the session. But, that is okay!

California Trip...

Eric and i on the night of the 27th of July began a 5 day trip to Northern and Southern California. We went to Eric's 40th High School Class reunion which was such a wonderful time and great that Eric and i were able to finally take a 2nd honeymoon!

Yes, it was just the two of us! Our favorite travel buddy- Heidi- Our daughter usually travels with us and we always have fun. But, this time we just wanted to finally take our 2nd honeymoon.

We left home at midnight of the 27th- going into the 28th and drove all night- the morning of the 28th we arrived in Northern California- Angels Camp and Calveras County- Eric's Grandparents and other relatives are buried there- We spent the day and one night there. It was so much fun.

The next morning we got up and headed south to LA!

We actually stayed in Costa Mesa. We loved our hotel! it was real nice.
